Nancy Al Raqqad


Head of cornea specialty at the Royal Medical Services of Jordan. A pioneer cornea cataract and refractive consultant. Completed her subspecialty training from the United Kingdom in 2011. She holds a diploma in leadership from the European Society of ophthalmology 2017. awarded the order of military merit by His Majesty King Abdullah Second for her innovative contributions to ophthalmology in Jordan in June 2019. A fellow and examiner of  the Royal College of Physicians and surgeons of Glasgow.  She is a speaker at many national and international conferences .A member of the Jordanian American and European Ophthalmological Societies.

Founder and lead of women in ophthalmology Arabia, TEDx speaker and listed on she is Arab platform as an influential speaker.

Christopher Liu

Consultant Cornea, External Eye Disease and Cataract in Brighton at the Sussex Eye Hospital. He is a world leading expert in the osteo-odonto-keratoprosthesis (OOKP),. He also serves as an Honorary Clinical Professor and Undergraduate Ophthalmology Lead for the Brighton and Sussex  university.

He is Past president of The Medical Contact Lens and Ocular Surface Association, British Society of Refractive Surgery, Southern Ophthalmological Society and is the current Honorary Treasurer of the Royal College of Ophthalmologists and President of Brighton and Sussex Medico-Chirurgical Society. He is also past Honorary Secretary of the UKISCRS and, and Council member and Trustee of the Royal College of Ophthalmologists.

He holds honorary academic and clinical positions past and present in Japan (Kindai University, Osaka), Hong Kong (Chinese University of Hong Kong), Singapore, India and Alexandria University in Egypt. 


He is a multi-award winner and He was appointed OBE in  2018  for Services to Ophthalmology.


Mohamed Hosny


Upon completion of ophthalmology residency in 1997 , Dr Hosny worked as a fellow of refractive and anterior segment surgery at the University of Alicante ,Spain perusing the clinical research of his Doctorate thesis under supervision of Professor Jorge Alio. He then travelled to work as a Registrar of Ophthalmology at Princess Alexandra Eye Pavillion in Edingburgh for one year. He obtained his Masters Degree from Cairo University in 1996 , His FRCS degree from the Royal College of Surgeons of Edingburgh in 1998 ,and his Doctorate degree in 1999.Dr Hosny has numerous international publications including coauthoring in David Ben Ezra’s book “ Ocular inflammation”. Dr Hosny is a regular presenter at the ASCRS and occasionally at the ESCRS meetings over the past 12 years.He served for more than six years as panelist and co-Chair person in sessions at the annual meeting of the ASCRS.

Dr Hosny is currently a Professor Of Ophthalmology at Cairo University , he also is a leading Refractive and Anterior segment consultant at Dar El Oyoun Specialized Eye Hospitals in Egypt.
